The H2O nanotec V2 filter represents a completely new generation of filtration. It combines one of the most effective and at the same time most eco-friendly solutions on the market. At its heart is a patented Czech material technology based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), complemented by a nanomembrane with extremely fine pores of just 30 nanometres (0.03 µm).
This uncompromising system safely removes from water
- Biological threats: viruses, coliform bacteria (such as E. coli).
- Chemical burden: chlorine and its hazardous compounds, pesticides washed off fields, partially heavy metals (mercury, lead, arsenic).
- Modern pollution: endocrine disruptors, residues of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals, ubiquitous microplastics.
What the V2 filter does not remove: nitrates and nitrites. If your water has elevated nitrate levels (typically wells in agricultural areas), we recommend IMT-NC9 nanofiltration, which removes them reliably.

Ordinary carbon filters cannot capture the smallest viruses or heavy metals. On the other hand, aggressive systems such as reverse osmosis strip water of absolutely everything, creating so-called “dead water” that has to be artificially remineralised.
Our nanofiltration is the perfect middle ground. While it effectively captures toxins and so-called “forever chemicals” (PFAS), it lets beneficial minerals such as magnesium and calcium pass through. The adapter allows hoses to be connected vertically or horizontally, so it adapts to any space. With our clear video guide, you will have everything connected in 15 minutes. And when it is time to replace the filter cartridge (roughly once every 6 months), you can do it quickly and cleanly.
NOTICE: with normal use, the filter cartridge lasts a family of four for 3,000–5,000 l of water and must be replaced after 6 months at the latest. The service life of the filter cartridge depends on local water quality, especially the organic matter content. Please follow the cartridge replacement intervals.

If the water pressure in your supply is high, we recommend adding our IMT-M5 pressure reducing valve with pre-filter or IMT-M8 pressure reducing valve with pre-filter and display at the inlet. If for any reason you cannot install one of the recommended valves, we have a simple solution: an under-sink high-pressure installation kit. Pressure regulation has several benefits – you save water, water flows less forcefully, and you protect your pipework, appliances and their seals. You also reduce the risk of pipe bursts in the water supply system.
And replacing the filter cartridge? Easy
The filter cartridge has a limited capacity for binding organic substances. Even though we are talking about billions of binding sites (because we use carbon nanotubes), the filter cartridge must be replaced in time. Replacing the cartridge is easy and, just like installation, anyone can do it. No special tools are needed.

What is the H2O nanotec V2 filter and what is it suitable for?
The V2 filter on legs is an under-sink water purifier that combines two technologies: a patented Czech filter cartridge with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and a nanomembrane with 0.03 μm pores. It is suitable for treating both mains and well water. It removes viruses, bacteria, chlorine, pesticides, pharmaceutical residues, microplastics and partially also heavy metals, while preserving beneficial minerals as much as possible. It does not remove nitrates and nitrites — for water with elevated levels of these, IMT-NC9 nanofiltration is more suitable.
What is the difference between the V2 filter and reverse osmosis?
Reverse osmosis removes almost everything from water — including minerals, producing distilled or “dead” water. The V2 filter removes harmful contaminants (pesticides, hormones, PFAS chemicals, viruses and bacteria, partially also heavy metals) but keeps calcium and magnesium in the water. Dissolved chemicals are captured by multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), viruses and bacteria are retained by the 0.03 μm membrane, and dissolved minerals pass freely through both stages. The resulting water is clean, delicious and naturally mineralised.
Is there just ordinary activated carbon inside the filter?
No. Although the cartridge looks like a carbon filter from the outside, it works in two stages. The first is a material with multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) deposited on a special carrier. Their enormous surface area with billions of binding sites captures dissolved substances — chlorine, pesticides, pharmaceutical residues, hormones and partially also heavy metals. The second stage is a nanomembrane with 0.03 μm pores that mechanically retains viruses, bacteria and microplastics. This combination captures microscopic pollutants far more effectively than ordinary carbon filters, as confirmed by tests at the Technical University of Liberec.
Will the taste of the water change after installation, and what does white cloudiness in the glass mean?
After filtration, the water tastes softer and better, with no chlorine odour at all. The white cloudiness that may appear in the glass after installing a new filter or replacing the cartridge is just air being pushed out of the new filter medium. The membrane breaks it into tiny microbubbles that give the water a milky look. The cloudiness is completely harmless and disappears on its own within moments — if you let the glass stand for a while, you will see the water clear from the bottom up as the bubbles rise to the surface. Once the air has been flushed out of the filter, usually within a few days of normal use, the cloudiness stops appearing altogether.
How is the V2 filter installed and will it fit under the sink?
Thanks to the integrated legs, you just stand the filter on the floor under the sink — no drilling into walls or cabinets. The compact stainless steel body takes up minimal space, and with our video guide almost anyone can install it within 15 minutes. You can connect the filter to your existing kitchen tap — filtered cold water will then flow straight from it — or to a three-way tap with a separate outlet for filtered water.
How often is the filter cartridge replaced and how does it work?
The filter cartridge is replaced roughly every 6 months (depending on contamination levels and water consumption). The new V2 version has a simplified replacement system that you can handle yourself in a few minutes without calling a plumber. Order the replacement type C V2 filter cartridge only shortly before replacement — the cartridge is supplied moist and cannot be stored long term.
What should I do with the used filter cartridge?
Don't throw it away. Let the cartridge drain, pack it in an airtight bag and register the return via the Customer Portal, which will generate a shipping label. If you drop it off at a PPL pick-up point, we cover the shipping. We regenerate the cartridge, dispose of the captured substances in an environmentally friendly way and, within 14 days, email you a €8 discount coupon for your next purchase, valid for 12 months.
Is the V2 filter suitable for well water and for preparing food for children?
For well water, yes. The V2 filter reliably removes bacteria, viruses and pesticides, the most common contaminants in wells. However, it does not remove nitrates and nitrites, which are common in wells in agricultural areas and are dangerous mainly for infants. We therefore recommend having your water analysed first. If the nitrate level is low, water from the V2 filter is suitable for drinking and cooking. If you want to prepare food for infants from water with elevated nitrate levels, choose IMT-NC9 nanofiltration, which removes both nitrates and nitrites.
