Replacement cartridge for the iron and manganese filter
The USTM IR20BB cartridge in Big Blue 20" format is a replacement part for the iron and manganese removal filter. It contains a catalytic granulate on which dissolved iron and manganese oxidise into insoluble particles that are trapped in the cartridge. The water is then clear, has no metallic taste and leaves no rusty or black stains on sanitary fittings or laundry. The cartridge works without electricity and without adding chemicals.
When to replace the cartridge
Cartridge life depends on the iron and manganese concentration in your water and on consumption. It is usually replaced after 3–6 months, or when the water pressure drops significantly. After installing a new cartridge, let the water run for 5–10 minutes to activate the media and flush out fine dust particles.
How to replace the cartridge
Shut off the water supply and open a tap to release the pressure. Unscrew the filter housing with the supplied wrench, remove the old cartridge and insert the new one, making sure the seal is seated correctly. Screw the housing back on, open the supply and let the water run until it is clear.
