Pre-filtration of coarse impurities to protect pipes and UF membranes
The PX50 pre-filter with a flush valve is a mechanical flushable filter designed to capture coarse impurities — sand, rust, clay and other undissolved particles. It serves as the first stage of protection for pipes, fittings and connected filtration equipment. Suitable for mains water and well water.
Extends the life of UF membranes
Installing the PX50 pre-filter upstream of the IMT-U7, IMT-U8 or IMT-U8 PSG ultrafiltration units significantly reduces the load of coarse impurities on the UF membrane and extends the cartridge replacement interval. We especially recommend it for well water or mains supplies with occasional sediment and rust.
Easy maintenance without replacing the cartridge
Filtration takes place on a flushable nylon cartridge with a fineness of 50 µm. Maintenance is done by flushing through the drain valve — with no need for frequent cartridge replacement. The transparent housing lets you check the cartridge for clogging without dismantling.

⚠ NOTE: This is mechanical filtration of coarse impurities. It does not remove dissolved substances (nitrates, pesticides, chlorine) — these are handled by further filtration stages depending on water quality.
FAQ
Everything you need to know about the PX50 pre-filter
What is the PX50 pre-filter and what is it for?
The PX50 pre-filter with a flush valve is a mechanical flushable filter for coarse water filtration. It captures undissolved mechanical impurities — sand, rust, clay and sediments. It serves as the first stage of protection for pipes, fittings and downstream filtration equipment (ultrafiltration membranes, water softeners). It does not remove dissolved substances such as chlorine, pesticides or nitrates.
Which filters is the PX50 combined with?
The PX50 is installed as a pre-stage upstream of the IMT-U7, IMT-U8 and IMT-U8 PSG ultrafiltration units. It significantly reduces the load of coarse impurities on the UF membrane and extends cartridge life. It can also be combined with IMT-M5 or IMT-M8 pressure regulators, water softeners or other filtration systems.
How is the PX50 pre-filter maintained?
Maintenance is done by flushing through the drain valve — with no need to dismantle it or replace the cartridge frequently. The transparent housing lets you check the cartridge for clogging. How often to flush depends on the quality of the incoming water.
What is the filtration fineness of the PX50?
The filter cartridge has a fineness of 50 µm — it captures sand, rust, clay and other coarse mechanical impurities. Finer filtration (viruses, bacteria, microplastics) requires a downstream solution such as the IMT-U7 or IMT-U8 ultrafiltration unit.
Is the PX50 suitable for well water?
Yes. The PX50 is suitable for both mains water and well water — especially where sediments, sand or rust occur. For complete treatment of well water (removing bacteria and viruses), we recommend combining the PX50 with an IMT-U7 or IMT-U8 ultrafiltration unit.
