Why replace the IMT-J2 filter cartridge regularly?
During use, the filter media gradually clog with mechanical impurities and their filtration capacity is used up. Replacing the cartridge regularly keeps the shower filter working properly, maintains a comfortable flow and effectively reduces residual chlorine.
The genuine replacement cartridge is designed in construction and size exclusively for the IMT-J2 shower filter. It is inserted directly into its stainless steel housing and is not intended for stand-alone use.
Multi-stage filter media
As water passes through the cartridge, it flows through several filter media in turn. Each layer has a different role, and together they help reduce residual chlorine and capture mechanical impurities.
The filter cartridge contains:
- SUS stainless steel mesh – captures sediment, fine particles and mechanical impurities.
- KDF media – a redox process helps reduce residual chlorine and some metals in the water.
- Calcium sulphite – reacts quickly with residual chlorine, making it well suited to everyday showering.
Actual filtration performance depends on the quality and composition of the incoming water, its temperature, the flow rate and the current condition of the cartridge.
Easy replacement without a plumber
The cartridge is replaced directly in the IMT-J2 shower filter housing and usually requires no plumber or special tools.
How to replace it:
- Shut off the water supply to the shower.
- Unscrew the IMT-J2 shower filter housing.
- Remove the used filter cartridge.
- Rinse the inside of the housing with clean water.
- Insert the new filter cartridge facing the right way.
- Check the condition of the sealing ring.
- Reassemble the filter and tighten the joints moderately.
- Slowly turn the water on and check for leaks.
Note: Replace a damaged, hardened or deformed sealing ring to prevent leaks.
