EasyRid 480 Pressure Reducing Valve
H2O nanotec EasyRid 480 static pressure reducing valve – compact protection of your filter against high mains pressure. The valve works on the pressure compensation principle and keeps a stable outlet pressure even when the inlet pressure fluctuates widely. It is designed for under-sink installation and anywhere a standard pressure reducing valve does not fit. For H2O nanotec under-sink filters it is mandatory wherever the pressure is not regulated at the house water inlet.
Key benefits of the H2O nanotec EasyRid 480 pressure reducing valve
- Stable outlet pressure even when mains pressure fluctuates
- One of the smallest and lightest pressure reducing valves on the market
- Protects the under-sink filter from pressure peaks
- Meets the warranty condition for H2O nanotec under-sink filters without a regulator at the house inlet
The valve uses the pressure compensation principle. Thanks to its simple and clever design, it maintains a precise outlet pressure where continuous pressure adjustment is not needed.
Technical highlights of the EasyRid 480 valve
- Female thread F 1/2" on both ends
- Factory-set outlet pressure 3–3.5 bar
- Inlet pressure 1–20 bar, water temperature 5–80 °C

Why use a pressure reducing valve in front of a filter?
Mains pressure fluctuates during the day and in some locations it can be higher than an under-sink filtration system can withstand. Pressure peaks strain housings, joints and filter cartridges. You can read more about how individual water treatment technologies work on our blog.
The EasyRid 480 static pressure reducing valve keeps a stable outlet pressure in front of the filter, even when mains pressure fluctuates.
Thanks to its small size it fits where a standard pressure reducing valve would be too large – typically in the cabinet under the sink. For H2O nanotec under-sink filters, fitting it is a condition of the warranty whenever the pressure is not already regulated at the house water inlet.
How does the EasyRid 480 work?
The EasyRid 480 works on the pressure compensation principle. Its simple and clever design ensures a precise outlet pressure even with large changes in inlet pressure.
Filter protection with the EasyRid 480 includes:
- Pressure reduction – the valve reduces mains pressure to the outlet value.
- Fluctuation compensation – the outlet pressure stays stable even when mains pressure changes.
- Equipment protection – the filter behind the valve operates within a safe pressure range.
The outlet pressure is factory-set to 3–3.5 bar. The valve needs no electricity and no consumables.
What does the EasyRid 480 solve?
The pressure reducing valve protects the equipment behind it from problems caused by high or fluctuating pressure:
- pressure peaks from the water mains,
- strain on filter housings, joints and tubing,
- risk of leaks under the sink,
- unstable pressure at the filtration inlet.
Notice: The EasyRid 480 only reduces and stabilizes pressure. It does not filter water and will not increase pressure if mains pressure is low.
Who is the EasyRid 480 pressure reducing valve suitable for?
The EasyRid 480 is designed for applications with limited space and where continuous outlet pressure adjustment is not needed. It handles inlet pressure of 1–20 bar and water temperature of 5–80 °C.
The EasyRid 480 is especially appreciated by:
- owners of H2O nanotec under-sink filters,
- households with nanofiltration, ultrafiltration or reverse osmosis,
- installations in small under-sink cabinets,
- locations with high or fluctuating mains pressure.
To protect the entire home plumbing at the house inlet, a pressure regulator with pre-filter such as the IMT-M5 or IMT-M8 is more suitable.
Why the EasyRid 480 instead of a whole-house regulator?
A regulator at the house inlet protects the entire plumbing including the filter. If you do not have an inlet regulator, the EasyRid 480 is fitted directly on the filter supply and provides it with stable pressure – at low cost and without changes to the main plumbing.
If you already have a regulator at the house inlet, the EasyRid 480 is not needed for the under-sink filter.

Installing the EasyRid 480 valve
The valve is fitted on the filter supply hose, between the cold water supply and the inlet of the filtration system.
Installation steps:
- Close the cold water supply (angle valve).
- Fit the EasyRid 480 on the filter supply in the direction of water flow.
- Slowly open the water supply and check the joints for leaks.
The outlet pressure of 3–3.5 bar is factory-set. Installation by our partner is available in the Czech Republic only; you can find tips for DIY installation on our website.
Will the valve affect water pressure or flow?
Yes, intentionally – the valve reduces the pressure at the filter inlet. The outlet pressure is factory-set to 3–3.5 bar, which is a suitable value for H2O nanotec filters.
The valve only reduces pressure. If mains pressure is lower than the valve's outlet value, the pressure remains unchanged.
How to care for the pressure reducing valve?
The EasyRid 480 has no replaceable cartridges. It is enough to check it during routine filter maintenance.
Consider checking the valve if:
- the water flow from the filter has changed significantly,
- a leak has appeared around the valve,
- you are replacing or relocating the filtration system.

A small valve that protects your filter
The EasyRid 480 keeps stable pressure in front of the filter even when mains pressure fluctuates, and it fits even into a small cabinet under the sink.
For H2O nanotec under-sink filters, fitting it is a condition of the warranty if the pressure is not regulated at the house water inlet.

⚠ NOTE: If water pressure is not regulated at the house inlet (e.g. by the IMT-M5 or IMT-M8 regulator), the supply hose to an H2O nanotec under-sink filter must be fitted with the EasyRid 480 pressure reducing valve. If this condition is not met, the filter warranty expires.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything you need to know about the EasyRid 480 pressure reducing valve
Why do I need a pressure reducing valve for a filter?
The valve protects the filter from high and fluctuating mains pressure. If pressure is not regulated at the house inlet, fitting it is a warranty condition for H2O nanotec under-sink filters.
What outlet pressure does the valve maintain?
The outlet pressure is factory-set to 3–3.5 bar. The valve handles inlet pressure of 1–20 bar.
What connection does the valve have?
It has a female thread F 1/2" on both ends.
Will the valve fit under the sink?
Yes. The EasyRid 480 is one of the smallest and lightest pressure reducing valves on the market and is designed precisely for places with limited space.
Does the valve hold pressure when the mains pressure fluctuates?
Yes. Thanks to the pressure compensation principle, it maintains a precise outlet pressure even with large changes in inlet pressure.
Does the valve filter water?
No. The EasyRid 480 only reduces and stabilizes pressure. For filtration, choose for example nanofiltration or ultrafiltration.
Will the valve increase low pressure?
No, a pressure reducing valve only reduces pressure.
